Combine and ‘Minify’ Files
When you minify a file, you’re removing elements that aren’t really necessary, such as whitespace, formatting, and code, as these contribute to the file size of your page. Think of it as trimming out the extra fat.
To help combine and minify files, use a WordPress performance plugin such as WP Rocket (premium). This caching plugin has multiple features such as Cloudflare compatibility, CDN, browser caching, and GZIP compression. It also allows you to combine static files.
